The Olson Twins and The Row

Starting out in front of the camera in Full House, and moving into movies, we all have had the Olsons, Mary-Kate and Ashley in our lives at one point, but since moving away from the lime light and moving into fashion, they have become very successful career women.

They established their fashion label The Row in 2006, and won “The Council of Fashion Designers of America, as Womenswear Designers of The Year” in 2012.

Their label is high end fashion made and designed in the The United States, and they are getting the credit they deserve.

As well as these girls starting a very successful high-end fashion brand, they are so stylist. These tiny ladies wear boho, lose fitting clothing and they make it look so chic instead of the clothes looking huge and eating them up. They have made big rounded sunglasses fashionable, and now its a stable in our sunglasses draw (if you have one).

Celebrity Look Of The Week

Kate Beckinsale
Kate Beckinsale – going into LAX in nude and silk

The silk nude pants, with a silk pink coat, nude fringe heels, the scarf, she knows how to get attention while walking through an airport.

She figured out how to dress silk pants, I can image it would have been a hard piece to style, you could think of it more of pyjama style, but she didn’t make it that, she made it into something so more stylist.

Also, the tucking the hard into the scarf, it looks so effortless.

Sheer Joy

For some of us, summer is coming, while on the southern hemisphere its winter (hands up if winter is coming, ME!) but there is something beautiful coming out for you summer folks that we can all appreciate, sheer clothing that either comes in silk, tulle or both.

20 Years of Jimmy Choo

Jimmy Choo was born in Penang, Malaysia in 1961. Father was a cobbler, and learnt how to create shoes from him, he made is first pair of shoes at the age of 11.

In the early 1980’s he moved to England to study at the Cordwainers technical college in Hackney, where is graduated with honors in 1983.

He opened his first store in 1986, in Hackney in an old hospital building, 2 years after opening he was featured in an eight-page spread in Vogue. Soon after that Choo became the IT shoe of the fashion world.

Today the brand has become a global name, connected to luxury with stores all over the world.

In 2001 Choo sold his half of the company to Robert Bensoussan of Equinox Luxury Holdings for $30 million.

Today, Jimmy Choo has returned to his roots at a small shop he opened in London, which serves as the headquarters for the exclusive Jimmy Choo Couture line. It’s here that Choo crafts a small number of pairs of shoes each week and trains a select group of students on how to make high-end footwear.

For Choo, a devout Buddhist, education has become a central part of his life. In recent years he has become an Ambassador for Footwear Education at the London College of Fashion and spokesperson for the British Council in its efforts to reach out to foreign students. Choo is also a recipient of the O.B.E. (Most Excellent Order of the British Empire).

CVC Stones My New Lust Have

You most likely haven’t heard of CVC Stones, I’ve personally never have seen a celebrity walking around with one around their neck, never seen an advertisement on them.

Clicking away on my computer, browsing through the list of designers on Net-A-Porter and I came across these beautiful stones.

Charles de Viel Castel founded CVC Stones after inheriting a loose diamond from his late grandmother – he wanted to find a unique purpose for it. His one-of-a-kind necklaces are strung with pebbles that have been hand-picked from beaches around the world and skillfully inlaid with diamonds. How beautiful.

Cate Blanchett

I love Cate Blanchett. She is graceful, talented and so beautiful, also a fellow Aussie (so proud). I’ve always loved what she is wearing, maybe once or twice I’ve questioned it, but you know, most of the time LOVE.

One of my favourites is when she went to the Oscars in 2011 in a Givenchy, drool.

Don’t you wish you could be just like her, if only I had events to wear couture.

Cut Some Holes

Laser cutting has become a thing lately, if you are not sure what it is, is it when a machine cuts holes through a garment to make a pattern. Its pretty cool.

One label who is big on the trend is Alaïa, a lot of their shoes and bags use the format quite a bit.

I don’t see this designing process going anywhere soon. Just another way of showing creativity, which is brilliant.

Favourite Met Gala Look

And the award goes to Kate Hudson, wearing her favourite colour (if it really is a colour), a white Atelier Versace. She looks like a goddess and Gaga knows it (giving her a dirty in the background, look, look at the jealously!).

Whoever her stylist is, they need a paid rise.

Met Gala 2016 – The Designers of the Night

I bet we all have now had a good look at the pictures from the Met Gala, the celebrities and what they are wearing.

The theme this year was ‘Artificial Intelligence’, a lot of people interpret that with a lot of metallic and leather. While looking at the pictures of the red carpet there were two designers that made more of an impact than the others (in my eyes anyways). Louis Vuitton and Balmain.

Louis Vuitton went more daring with the designs this year at the gala, and they stood out. Not to say you have to like it, but he took that risk and played on the theme.

Another Designer that had a few followers was Balmain. Head designer, Olivier Rousteing has a wealth of celebrity friends to wear his designs, but you can tell its a Balmain, all the dresses are very similar.

Celebrity Look Of The Week

I love Sienna Millers style. Its simple pieces, but she gets the highest quality, and she always has a statement piece to her outfit. So here its her leather jacket (OMG). She teams the jacket well with some jeans (cropped) and a blue blouse.

I’ll do anything to go through her wardrobe. She is always on point.
